This evening, i watched a webinar titled as Going beyond the ABC song. This webinar highlights the importance of music and how it affects learning. Its objective was to connect between language learning and music. It demonstrated several kinds of songs that benefit language learning. Some songs enhance the knowledge of vocabulary and spelling. As the children sings with the teacher, they try to imitate the teacher by repeating the words of the song so they learn as they sing. Others support narrative story telling and rhythmic sounds. These songs contain short stories that are told through a song with rhymes. As they sing, they start to acknowledge similar sounds rhyming together. Also they develop the awareness of story telling- in case it sung with book- and print awareness and motivation. In addition, some songs contain "tongue-twister"that help in the learning process. They are repetition of sound-letter associations that enhance vocabulary development, articulation of muscles, active listening, coordination of breathe, of speech, and fun with sounds. while singing, repeating tongue twisters make the children use all muscles in the mouth. Combined with rhymes they learn to use active listening to coordinate between breathe and speech and thus having fun with sounds.

Finally, music learning supports and encourage social and emotional learning. its important to add music to learning since it helps self control, learn math skills by training brains, and the most important thing is that it help kids getting excited about learning.
